Call of the Night Season 2 Reveals Opening Theme by Creepy Nuts in New Trailer, Short-Term Manga Sequel Also Announced

Call of the Night Season 2 has unveiled its main promotional trailer, featuring a new opening theme song by Creepy Nuts. The anime is set to premiere on July 4, with studio LIDENFILMS returning for animation.

HIDIVE has also confirmed the anime will stream on the platform in July. The new opening theme, titled “Mirage,” can be previewed in the latest trailer.

Call of the Night Manga Sequel Announced

With the anime update, it was revealed that a new manga arc, Call of the Night: Paradise Arc (Yofukashi no Uta – Rakuen-hen), will start serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday Issue #31, releasing on July 2. This will be the first new content for the series since its conclusion in January 2024, offering a short-term, standalone story.

Tomoyuki Itamura directs the Call of the Night anime adaptation, with Mao Miyoshi and Izumi Takizawa as assistant directors. The core staff features Michiko Yokote handling the script, Haruka Sagawa as the character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa composing the music.

The anime is adapted from Kotoyama's manga and takes its name from the Creepy Nuts song "Yofukashi no Uta." The band also performed both the opening and ending themes for Season 1, titled “Daten” and “Yofukashi no Uta.” The manga concluded in January 2024 with a total of 200 chapters. Viz Media handles the English publication, summarizing the story as follows: “One night, sleepless Yamori sneaks out of his house to explore the town’s nighttime streets. Life after dark is eye-opening, especially when he meets the flirtatious Nanakusa. She’s far more entertaining than the usual park-bench drunks. When she invites him to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s thrilled! But he wakes up to kisses on his neck that feel a little too sharp…”
