Netflix has confirmed that The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity will begin streaming internationally on July 13, 2025, with Netflix Japan premiering it earlier on July 5. A new visual and trailer were revealed last week.
This release pattern is similar to Blue Box and SAKAMOTO DAYS, which also debuted on Netflix in Japan a week before their global release.
Netflix Philippines shared the new trailer on Facebook with the caption: "They come from different worlds, but Rintaro and Kaoruko will beat the odds and stick together come what may. The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity arrives on Netflix July 13."
The trailer’s official description only mentions "2025" for its arrival on the platform.
Studio CloverWorks is handling the animation and is also working on My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 and Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, both of which are scheduled to premiere on July 5 in Japan.
Saka Mikami is the creator of the manga series The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku), which started on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website and app in October 2021. As of this April, 16 volumes have been released, and Kodansha also publishes the series in English.
The story centers on Rintaro, a second-year student at Chidori High, known as a school for boys with the worst grades, who helps out at his family’s patisserie. One day, he meets Kaoruko, a kind girl he quickly connects with. However, Rintaro discovers that Kaoruko goes to Kikyo Girls’ High, an elite school for wealthy families. As their bond deepens, they face challenges and schemes from classmates while trying to stay together.
