Nippon Animation announced a spin-off to its 1977 anime Araiguma Rascal (Raccoon Rascal) on Thursday. The animation studio also opened an official website, revealing the main staff, cast, and a teaser visual (pictured). Titled Araiguma Calcal-dan, the spin-off anime will air in 2025 as a part of Nippon Animation's 50th anniversary project.

Voice actors Junya Enoki (Jujutsu Kaisen), Taku Yashiro (Undead Girl Murder Farce), Kensho Ono (Vinland Saga), Youhei Azakami (Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri), and Kenjirou Tsuda (Gokushufudou) are set to star in the anime.

The original Araiguma Rascal (Raccoon Rascal) television anime, adapting Sterling North's Rascal: A Memoir of a Better Era 1963 autobiographical novel, aired in 52 episode from Winter to Fall in 1977. The anime series was the third production in Nippon Animation's Sekai Meisaku Gekijou (World Masterpiece Theater) titles—anime adaptations of various children's literature.
