Crunchyroll has declared the acquisition of North American and certain international theatrical rights for the anime movie Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK, scheduling an early 2025 release. The distribution will be a joint effort with Sony Pictures Entertainment, encompassing the following territories:
North America: United States, Canada
Latin America: Brazil, Mexico, and other select Latin American countries
EMEA: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom
APAC: Australia, New Zealand
The anime movie was initially scheduled for a three-week run starting November 8 in Japan, but the screening period was extended due to its success. Special 'crying screenings' have been announced for December 4, which was yesterday, and December 11.
The revenue for "Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK" was reported to surpass 1 billion yen (approximately $6.65 million) at the box office as of December 5, and the opening scene was released in celebration of this milestone.
Studio MAPPA is responsible for the animation, with Yuichiro Hayashi directing. The theatrical release compiles the Final Chapters specials, boasting enhanced edits and 5.1ch surround sound. The film has garnered acclaim in Japan, with numerous fans returning for multiple viewings. Additionally, a new post-credits scene has been included, featuring an adaptation of the Attack on School Castes spin-off.
The core team for Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK, alongside director Yuichiro Hayashi, consists of Hiroshi Seko handling series composition, Tomohiro Kishi as character designer, Daisuke Niinuma overseeing chief animation direction, Masato Yoshitake in charge of editing, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO with Hiroyuki Sawano composing the music.
The release date for Attack on Titan: The Last Attack in Southeast Asia is set for January 2025.
