(0 reviews)

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc Chapter 1: Akaza’s Return has been making waves at the Japanese box office, now ranking as the third highest-grossing Japanese film of all time after 31 days. With 18,272,941 admissions, the movie has reached a total revenue of 25.78 billion yen (around 174 million USD).

This achievement follows its earlier milestone of surpassing ONE PIECE FILM RED to become the 6th highest-grossing anime film, earning 22.07 billion yen in just 25 days. In less than a week, Infinity Castle climbed further up the charts and is now aiming for the record of 40.75 billion yen set by the franchise’s previous film, Mugen Train.

A new key visual highlighting the Shinobu vs Doma fight has fueled even more excitement. Since its global theater release on August 14, anticipation has grown, with its North American debut set for September 12 and early screenings available for Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan subscribers.

Before its record-breaking premiere in Japan, tickets for the earliest screenings sold out within minutes. Right now, all anime episodes and movies are available to stream on YouTube for free (for one week starting August 16). The movie, confirmed to have a runtime of 155 minutes (2 hours and 35 minutes), debuted in the largest number of Japanese theaters in the franchise’s history.
