The Gintama spin-off anime, 3-Z's Ginpachi-sensei, unveiled a new trailer at the Jump Festa '25 stage. The anime, which was previously confirmed for an October 2025 release, will be animated by Studio Bandai Namco Pictures. The spin-off novel by Tomohito Osaki will have Makoto Moriwaki as the chief director and Natsumi Higashida as director.

The staff for Class 3-Z’s Ginpachi-sensei includes Kazuyuki Fudeyasu as the character designer, Shinji Takeuchi as the chief animation director, and Audio Highs handling the music. The anime previously confirmed a 2025 premiere a teaser trailer.
Tomoh Osaki began the spin-off novel in 2006, with the final volume, Volume 8, releasing in 2018. Hideaki Sorachi wrote and illustrated the original Gama manga, which first ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2003 to 2018, and then in their Jump Giga until February 2019.
Gintama was animated by Sunrise until Season 4, at which point Bandai Namco Pictures took over. The anime comprises a total of 367 episodes, along with numerous OVAs, movies, games, novels, and specials. The latest installment was Gintama: The Very Final movie, which premiered in 2021.
The Gintama On Theater 2D project also announced a double-feature movie adaptation for the Shinsengumi Crisis and Kabukicho Four Devas arcs, scheduled to premiere in February 2025.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English as Gin Tama, while Crunchyroll is streaming the anime. The story follows Gintoki Sakata, a legendary samurai with a sweet tooth who now handles odd jobs. Together with his new friends, he embarks on numerous wacky adventures while confronting his past and saving the world on the side.
