The story follows Gabimaru, a shinobi who was known as the strongest in Iwagakure. He became a death row convict due to his desire to leave the lifestyle, and was then sent to an island to find the Elixir of Life as a means to gain acquittal and be reunited with his wife. As he arrives the island and meets the other death row convicts, he quickly learns that the island is far from normal and that survival will be difficult, let alone finding the elixir.
