A trailer for LUPIN THE IIIRD: Zenigata and the Two Lupins has been released, serving as a prequel to the upcoming LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE: The Immortal Bloodline. The project will premiere via streaming in Japan on June 20, just a week before The Immortal Bloodline’s theatrical release on June 27.
Kenyu Horiuchi has been announced as the voice of Fake Lupin, joining the returning cast of veteran voice actors. The trailer is now available to watch.
Studio Telecom Animation Film is handling the animation for the prequel, which is described as follows:
Inspector Zenigata witnesses a bombing at an airport in the Robieto Federation and is shocked to see the suspect is none other than Lupin III. Though he loses sight of him, he later spots another "Lupin" at a train station. Zenigata apprehends him on a train, but Lupin escapes with the help of Daisuke Jigen.
Meanwhile, Fujiko Mine infiltrates a circus and becomes the star performer for the nation’s supreme leader, Breilin, as a trapeze artist. As a major disarmament parade approaches, Karashikov of the National Security Commission brands Lupin a terrorist and a spy from the Arca Republic, launching an intense pursuit. Zenigata, however, begins to question the official narrative.
In the capital, when Lupin is cornered by authorities, it’s Zenigata—convinced of his innocence—who intervenes. But just then, another explosion strikes Zenigata...

The late Kazuhiko Kato, better known by his pen name Monkey Punch, is the original creator of Lupin III (also referred to as Lupin the Third, Lupin the 3rd, or Lupin the IIIrd). The story revolves around Lupin III, the grandson of the gentleman thief Arsène Lupin. The original Lupin III manga debuted in Weekly Manga Action on August 10, 1967. Since then, it has been adapted into numerous formats, including TV anime, movies, live-action films, and specials.
