Netflix has announced that Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 will premiere on the platform in select regions of Asia on July 19. This comes after the release of the main trailer for the anime, which features the opening song “You Can’t Run From Yourself” by AURORA.
Production I.G is handling the animation, with creature designs by Studio Khara. Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream the anime as part of its Summer 2025 lineup and will also stream it globally on X (formerly Twitter) starting July 19.
Netflix has also unveiled an English version of the main visual.

The main voice cast features Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8, Wataru Kato as Reno Ichikawa, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, Kengo Kawanishi as Soshiro Hoshina, Tessho Genda as Isao Shinomiya, and Koki Uchiyama as Gen Narumi.
Newly announced cast members include Hiroki Yasumoto as Hasegawa and Kana Hanazawa as Rin.
Naoya Matsumoto's manga Kaiju No. 8 started serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform and has released 15 volumes as of March. The series is confirmed to conclude in just two more chapters, with Viz Media handling its English publication.
The franchise's game adaptation, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, will debut its first demo at Anime Expo 2025 next month. With over 300,000 pre-registrations worldwide, the game is scheduled for a global release later in 2025.
