The light novel series "The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom" is being adapted into an anime. A teaser visual and a trailer have been released, featuring Yui Ishikawa as the voice of the protagonist, Philia. The anime's premiere is scheduled for 2025.
The anime is adapted from a light novel series authored by Koki Fuyutsuki with illustrations by Masami. Initially serialized on the user-generated novel platform Shosetsuka ni Narō from July 2020 until January 2022, it was later picked up by Overlap, which started publishing the series under its Overlap Novels imprint in April 2021. The manga adaptation, drawn by Mago Ayakita, began serialization in Overlap’s Comic Gardo manga service in November 2021.
Seven Seas is publishing the light novel in English, describing it as follows:
Philia comes from a lineage of saints and is hailed as the greatest saint in history, destined to marry Julius, the second prince. Unexpectedly, Julius cancels the engagement, criticizing Philia's flawless nature as charmless and unappealing. Subsequently, Philia is sent to a neighboring country in a trade for gold and resources, compelling her to abandon her homeland. Anticipating harsh treatment, Philia is instead warmly received in her new community, where she utilizes her saintly powers to construct barriers against monsters and heal epidemics. As Philia thrives in her new environment, her native land faces imminent peril.
