A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace – Key Visual featuring the cast members

Based on the manga series by Kuzushiro, studio Voil is producing the anime adaptation under the direction of Kaoru Suzuki. Mio Inoue is in charge of series composition, Kana Miyai is designing the characters, and Kei Haneoka along with Hironori Doi are composing the music. The anime’s latest trailer, released last July, features the opening theme song “Zettai Shosan” by HoneyWorks ft. HaKoniwalily, while the ending theme “Thankful” is performed by Sizuk.

The story revolves around Futami, a rookie shojo manga artist who finally begins publishing her dream shogi manga, “Subaru e,” with the support of her cool editor and dependable assistant. Despite this, she struggles with stomachaches, looming deadlines, and storyboard blocks, leading to late-night snacking and wild delusions as she stays stuck at her desk.

Originally published as a one-shot in Kodansha’s Kiss josei manga magazine in February 2019, the manga began serialization on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in May 2019.
