After much thought, I’ve decided that Anime Social may be shutting down soon. This community has been live for a year, and while I had big hopes for it, there’s been little to no growth during that time. On top of that, I’ve been struggling with my mental health and haven’t been as active as I wanted to be. Running a community takes energy and consistency, and right now, I need to focus on taking care of myself. What does this mean? If Anime Social doesn’t become more active in the next 6 months, I’ll will have no choice but shut it down. I truly appreciate everyone who joined and supported Anime Social. Thank you for being part of this journey, even if it didn’t turn out the way I envisioned. What’s next? This isn’t the end of connecting with fellow fans! We still have our Discord server, (Link to Discord server will be provided in the Offline Message when AS shuts down.) and I also run another site called Geek Nexus, which focuses on broader geek culture. I’ll be putting more energy into that project when I’m ready, so stay tuned for updates. Thank you again for your support. Take care of yourselves, and keep enjoying the amazing world of anime! 💙- General Chat Thread

morning how is everyone today- What is your favorite mid-episode song or montage
Every anime has that Opening song that gets us hyped for the episode we are watching. The ending keeps us hyped for the next episode! But there are those few anime that has either a montage when progressing the story or an in-episode song that hits us in the heart or hypes us up for the rest of that episode. What are your favorite ones? Final episode of The Apothecary Diaries (season 1) Maomao's Dance Chase: Love Live Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Feilds of Hope: Gundam Seed Destiny LouLan's Dance The Apothecary Diaries- Top 10 Romantic Anime of All Time
While the thrilling realms of Shonen anime such as My Hero Academia and Spy x Family Code: White may be capturing the limelight, it's important not to overlook the diverse array of other anime genres brimming with treasures. Romance anime, for instance, provides a unique adventure characterized by heartwarming confessions, comedic misunderstandings, and the development of intimate relationships. The appeal of romance anime lies in its ability to forge a connection with down-to-earth characters and present stories that are as humorous as they are relatable. From the touching romance of a struggling student and a young widow in Maison Ikkoku's boarding house to the everyday romance of high schoolers in Clannad, the finest anime series have the power to make viewers experience laughter, tears, and affection all within a single episode. 'My Girlfriend is Shobitch' (2017)Directed by Nobuyoshi NagayamaMy Girlfriend is Shobitch plunges viewers into the tumultuous romance between Haruka Shinozaki and Akiho Kosaka. Haruka, an ordinary high school student, gathers the courage to confess to his seemingly flawless class representative, Akiho. When she accepts, the situation escalates as Akiho embarks on some dubious research to become the ultimate girlfriend. The show deserves to be hailed among some of the best comedy animes of all time, filled with hilarious misinterpretations and overly sexual advances that leave Haruka in a constant state of flustered embarrassment. But besides that, My Girlfriend is Shobitch cleverly uses its comedic premise to explore the anxieties and insecurities of first love. Akiho Kosaka, despite her forward behavior, embodies the universal fear of not being "good enough" for your partner something viewers can resonate with. 'Ao-chan Can't Study' (2019)Directed by Keisuke InoueCan a girl obsessed with studying find room in her life for love? Thats the main premise of Ao Chan Can't Study!, as it follows Ao Horie, a high schooler who prioritizes textbooks over teenage crushes. However, her carefully constructed world of academic discipline is turned upside down when Takumi Kijima confesses his affection for her. Now, Ao must navigate the unfamiliar territory of romance while battling the unwanted thoughts triggered by her father's profession as an erotic novelist. "Ao Chan Can't Study!" is an anime centered on overcoming personal obstacles to achieve happiness. It follows Ao's journey of self-discovery as she learns to face her biases and open herself to the prospect of love. The series shines in its depiction of characters who are relatable in their struggle with emerging emotions, resonating with anyone familiar with the awkward yet thrilling experience of a first love. 'Kaguya-sama: Love Is War' (2019-2023)Directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama"Kaguya-sama: Love Is War" humorously explores the classic dilemma of "Who will confess first?" Set in the elite Shuchiin Academy, the story revolves around Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, two top students locked in a comical battle of wits. Despite their strong feelings for each other, neither wants to admit it first, believing that to do so would show weakness. This leads to a series of amusing misunderstandings and strategic maneuvers akin to a game of chicken. There is a palpable romantic tension between Kaguya and Miyuki, as they continuously try to outwit one another. The series also features a host of memorable supporting characters, such as Chika Fujiwara, whose unpredictable antics contribute an additional layer of humor. "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War" offers an amusing perspective on the romantic comedy genre, illustrating that love can truly be a battlefield. 'TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You' (2020 - Present)Directed by Hiroshi IkehataEveryone wishes they could just jump straight to happily ever after, which is exactly what happens in TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You. Starting with a wedding, the show takes a look at Nasa Yuzaki, a genius high school student who becomes so smitten with the enigmatic Tsukasa Tsukuyomi that he impulsively proposes after a near-fatal accident. To his surprise, she agrees, but with one condition: they get married right away. TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You highlights their unconventional journey of married life, filled with charming domesticity and quirky adventures. Without a doubt, the anime is a love letter to the quiet beauty of everyday life as a couple, eschewing the typical dramatic tropes of the romance genre by focusing on the subtle intimacy and affection between Nasa and Tsukasa. 'Maison Ikkoku' (19861988)Directed by Kazuo Yamazaki, Takashi Ann, and Naoyuki YoshinagaThe '80s saw the release of numerous outstanding anime and cartoons, among which Maison Ikkoku is a series that stands out as worth revisiting. Adapted from Rumiko Takahashi's cherished manga, it revolves around Yusaku Godai, a warm-hearted yet unfortunate college student living in the vibrant boarding house called Maison Ikkoku. His ordinary life is transformed with the entrance of Kyoko Otonashi, the attractive young widow who takes over as the manager. Godai falls for her at first sight, but capturing Kyoko's affection is no easy feat. Maison Ikkoku diverges from typical romance anime that often hinge on fast-paced romances and intense proclamations, instead it captures the gentle progression of a gradually kindling romance. Observing the evolution of Godai and Kyoko's relationship is a delightful journey that echoes the essence of timeless romantic tales. Boys Over Flowers' (1996-1997)Directed by Shigeyasu YamauchiWith numerous adaptations worldwide, it's unsurprising that many viewers are acquainted with the heartwarming tale of Boys Over Flowers. This 90s anime chronicles the tumultuous life of Tsukushi Makino, a resolute girl who challenges the norms at the elite Eitoku Academy. Her act of kindness towards a bullied peer draws the ire of the "F4," a clique of affluent and haughty boys led by Tsukasa Domyoji, yet Tsukushi stands her ground. The intense clash between Tsukushi and Tsukasa propels the narrative, culminating in a captivating enemies-to-lovers arc. Moreover, F4's Rui Hanazawa finds himself enamored with Tsukushi, igniting a passionate love triangle brimming with mystery and tension. Despite its melodramatic twists, Boys Over Flowers presents a narrative where love overcomes social stratification and disparities. 'Adachi and Shimamura' (2020)Directed by Satoshi Kuwabara"Adachi and Shimamura" is an LGBT anime that is sure to touch the hearts of its viewers. It tells the story of two high school girls, Sakura Adachi and Hougetsu Shimamura, who form an unexpected and tender romance after a chance meeting in their school gymnasium. As they spend more time together, their bond grows stronger, and Adachi starts to recognize that her feelings for Shimamura go beyond friendship. The series is a journey of self-discovery and the exploration of first love. It sensitively captures the emotional subtleties of an emerging romance, including the uncertainty, longing, and slow acceptance of new emotions. "Adachi and Shimamura" stands out for its portrayal of a gentle kind of longing and admiration, set against the backdrop of a calm atmosphere, with a soft color scheme and ethereal sequences. 'Clannad' (2007-2008)Directed by Tatsuya IshiharaIn "Clannad," Tomoya Okazaki, a high schooler carrying the weight of a troubled past, has his skepticism softened upon meeting Nagisa Furukawa, a kindhearted and optimistic girl repeating her senior year. Attracted to her warmth and resolve, Tomoya discovers more about himself in Nagisa's company as they join forces to rejuvenate the school's drama club and navigate life's hurdles. "Clannad" enchants anime enthusiasts with its genuine relationships and heartfelt connections. The evolving bond between Tomoya and Nagisa captivates viewers, as they observe their love withstand the ups and downs of youth. Engaging with "Clannad" prompts a spectrum of emotions, from joy to sorrow, rendering it an exceptionally moving and memorable anime journey. 'Toradora!' (2008-2009)Directed by Tatsuyuki NagaiCrunchyroll offers a vast array of slice-of-life anime, including the beloved classic, Toradora!. This series chronicles the love story between Ryuuji Takasu, a student misjudged as a delinquent because of his intimidating appearance, and Taiga Aisaka, a diminutive yet fierce girl known as the "Palmtop Tiger." Intriguingly, their relationship begins as they assist each other with confessions to their respective crushes. Throughout their high school journey and as they confront their evolving emotions, they learn that love can flourish in the least expected places. Toradora! strikes a chord with its audience through its authentic depiction of adolescent relationships. The characters, with their relatable imperfections, embark on a path of personal growth, self-discovery, and love, culminating in Taiga's decision to take time for self-improvement at the series' conclusion. 'From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke' (2009-2024)Directed by Hiro Kaburaki and Kenichi MatsuzawaMisunderstood and isolated, Sawako Kuronuma faces the trials of high school with a heavy heart in "From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke." Her striking resemblance to the ghost girl from "The Ring" has earned her the nickname "Sadako," leading to her ostracization by her peers. Yet, beneath her shy exterior is a kind and gentle soul longing for connection. Fortuitously, the popular Shouta Kazehaya recognizes the true Sawako, offering friendship that alters her life indelibly. For those seeking an anime centered on first love and self-discovery, "Kimi ni Todoke" is a must-watch. The evolving romance between Sawako and Kazehaya unfolds at a measured pace, but "From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke" brims with heartfelt moments, clumsy interactions, and authentic emotional bonds. It's uplifting to witness Sawako's journey to surmount her insecurities and savor the pleasures of companionship and love, bolstered by Kazehaya's compassion and steadfast support. It's a series that delicately portrays the nuances of young love, ranking it among the finest romance anime available today. That’s It!I'm glad you found the list enjoyable! Feel free to share in the comments if you've watched any of these anime and your thoughts on them. Dark GatheringYear: 2023 Studio: OLM Streaming On: HIDIVE Kicking off our Halloween anime roundup this October, we present the recent series, Dark Gathering. It chronicles the life of Keitarou, a young man with an extraordinary sensitivity to spirits, as he endeavors to recover from a harrowing encounter with a malevolent ghost. However, Keitarou's path takes an unexpected turn when he begins tutoring Yayoi, a peculiar girl whose connection to the spirit world may surpass his own. With one of the most compelling opening episodes this season, Dark Gathering is sure to captivate you from the start. Gabriel DropOutYear: 2017 Studio: Doga Kobo Streaming On: Crunchyroll For those seeking a Halloween anime recommendation that's more silly than spooky, consider watching Gabriel DropOut. This light-hearted, slice-of-life comedy series chronicles the whimsical misadventures of four girls—two angels and two demons—attending school in the human world. Doga Kobo, known for their expertise in slapstick comedy with works like 2011's YuruYuri and 2014's Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, brings their experience to Gabriel DropOut. The show promises plenty of laughs, and while it may not have the strongest Halloween themes, it features an enjoyable Halloween episode. Additionally, the inclusion of two demon girls adds a touch of Halloween flair. Dusk Maiden Of AmnesiaYear: 2012 Studio: Silver Link Streaming On: HIDIVE For those who appreciate a touch of romance in their horror, Dusk Maiden Of Amnesia could be just what you're looking for. This anime narrates the tale of Seikyou Academy's paranormal investigation club, dedicated to solving the school's eerie mysteries. Unbeknownst to them, the ghost of the club's original founder lingers in the clubroom, unseen by all but the protagonist, Teiichi, who struggles with the reality of this spectral senior. With a concise run of 12 episodes, Dusk Maiden offers a quick and entertaining experience, though anyone seeking more intricate horror may find the manga more fulfilling. AnotherYear: 2012 Studio: P.A. Works Streaming On: Crunchyroll (US) "Another" was the first horror anime I watched, making it a fitting addition to a Halloween anime list. The series follows Kouichi Sakakibara, who transfers to a new school and encounters a disturbing and unwelcoming atmosphere in his class. Kouichi becomes fascinated with a student named Mei, whom no one else seems to acknowledge. As the story progresses, a series of horrifying events unfold, leaving Kouichi to solve the mystery surrounding the school and Mei's peculiar situation. "Another" is somewhat unique, blending slow-building suspense with overt gore, a combination that may not appeal to everyone. However, what is horror if not a little rough around the edges? Ghost HuntYear: 2006 Studio: J.C. Staff Streaming On: Crunchyroll When Halloween television comes to mind, I recall the eccentric absurdity of Most Haunted, a peculiar British ghost hunting show featuring a host of oddballs and impostors venturing into the world's most haunted locales. Similarly, when considering Halloween anime, Ghost Hunt emerges as the closest parallel to Most Haunted in anime form. The series chronicles the adventures of youthful ghost hunters probing enigmatic hauntings for the Shibuya Psychic Research Company. For those who revel in ghostly pursuits yet acknowledge their fictitious nature, Ghost Hunt is worth watching. High School DxDYear: 2012 Studio: TNK Streaming On: Crunchyroll, Hulu Including High School DxD on a list of Halloween anime might be a stretch. However, the show does offer some suspense, especially if there's a chance of being caught watching it by family members. The story follows Issei, an average high school student whose life is transformed after a violent encounter with a fallen angel. He finds himself in the service of Rias, a devil from the prestigious Gremory clan. While the series isn't particularly horrifying, it features demons, devils, epic battles between celestial beings, and an abundance of supernatural antics. The Lost VillageYear: 2016 Studio: Diomedéa Streaming On: Crunchyroll What's more intriguing than a horror masterpiece? A disasterpiece of horror, indeed. "The Lost Village," released in 2016, is the quintessential Halloween anime for those who like their scares served with a side of quirkiness. The plot revolves around 30 individuals embarking on an extraordinary bus tour to a legendary village called Nanakimura. Legend has it that one can leave behind all worldly woes by settling in Nanakimura. Could such a place truly exist? "The Lost Village" may be somewhat chaotic, but it's brimming with spirit. Those who are lenient may discover something profound in the chaos, while others may simply enjoy a good chuckle. High School Of The DeadYear: 2010 Studio: Madhouse Streaming On: HIDIVE (US) High School of the Dead has gained notoriety for its excessive fan service and unusual camera angles. However, it's actually quite impressive if you look beyond that. The series boasts some excellent zombie action sequences and truly remarkable animation. It centers on a group of high school students attempting to survive following a zombie apocalypse. While the premise may not be groundbreaking, the show delivers twelve episodes filled with continuous excitement and possesses a distinctive charm that distinguishes it from the plethora of zombie-themed content that many viewers might be weary of by now. Devilman CrybabyYear: 2018 Studio: Science SARU Streaming On: Netflix "Devilman Crybaby" emerged as an unexpected success upon its release on Netflix in 2018. The Devilman franchise has a rich history, and "Devilman Crybaby" stands out as a high point. It chronicles the journey of Akira Fudou, a timid and reserved student who becomes the eponymous Devilman, tasked with battling ancient demons intent on conquering the world. The series shines across the board, boasting stunning animation, inventive combat scenes, a poignant story, and one of the most acclaimed soundtracks in anime. Soul EaterYear: 2008 Studio: Bones Streaming On: Crunchyroll (US) To cap off our list of excellent Halloween anime, we present Soul Eater. This series is a larger undertaking than most, spanning 51 episodes. However, if you're ready for the journey, Soul Eater boasts the most robust Halloween aesthetic of the bunch. Even more than a decade after its original release, Soul Eater impresses with outstanding animation and a beautifully unified art style. The plot centers around the students of Shibusen, a school for Shinigami, who team up with "human weapons" to vanquish formidable monsters and protect their city, aptly named Death City. Soul Eater offers a laid-back viewing experience, emphasizing visual flair over deep narrative, making it ideal for those who prefer treats to tricks. That’s It! I hope this list frights and excites you to get in to the Halloween spirit- General Chat Thread
