  1. Last month, COVER Corp. introduced a new music label for hololive production called hololive RECORDS. This marks the official establishment of hololive's music production and distribution efforts. The decision to create hololive RECORDS was driven by a desire to "carry these achievements and passion for music into the future" and to offer a platform for musical activities centered around their talents. Hololive's music has achieved significant success, with multiple songs charting on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, amassing millions of views online, and serving as theme songs for popular anime like Mori Calliope’s “Future Island” (One Piece) and “Go-Getters” (Suicide Squad ISEKAI), as well as Hoshimachi Suisei’s “I Don’t Care” (Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX). Interviews were conducted with Mori Calliope in 2023 and 2024, followed by a conversation with COVER Corp. CEO Motoaki Tanigo that same year. Hololive’s evolution has continued despite the graduations of notable talents such as Gawr Gura, Murasaki Shion, Ceres Fauna, Sakamata Chloe, Amelia Watson, and Minato Aqua. Hololive RECORDS was launched with the slogans “Music, voices, feelings – now and forever, they will be with you [translated]” and “Hololive’s music, broader, deeper, and freer [translated].” The announcement stated, “Any dream, any challenge, starts here. We’ll do everything that’s fun. A playground where ‘what I want to try’ is realized through music.” Hololive RECORDS builds on the joint label holo-n, formed in 2023 by Hololive and Universal Music Japan’s EMI Records, and follows Mori Calliope’s signing with EMI Records in 2022. According to Spotify, COVER Corp. holds the master copyright for Mori Calliope’s latest song, “Queen of the Night,” while Hololive RECORDS manages its publishing rights.

  4. In a world where words often fall short, A Sign of Affection explores the delicate language of love through gestures, glances, and the unspoken. Yuki, a gentle-hearted university student who is deaf, navigates life with grace and resilience. Her world shifts when she meets Itsuomi, a multilingual traveler with a bold spirit and an open heart. Their connection begins with curiosity and kindness—a shared train ride, a smile, a handwritten note—and blossoms into a tender romance built on mutual understanding. As they learn each other's rhythms, Yuki and Itsuomi discover that affection isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes, it’s a hand reaching out in silence, a patient pause in conversation, or the effort to learn someone’s language—not just spoken, but emotional. Their story is a celebration of empathy, vulnerability, and the beauty of love that transcends barriers.

  12. (Shiunji-ke no Kodomo-tachi) is a romantic comedy anime centered around Arata Shiunji and his six siblings — Banri, Seiha, Ouka, Minami, Shion, and Kotono — who live together in a prestigious household in Tokyo’s Seijō neighborhood. The story takes a dramatic turn when their father reveals that none of the siblings are biologically related. This revelation shatters their understanding of family and opens the door to unexpected emotional shifts. While the siblings initially promise to maintain their familial bonds, romantic tensions begin to surface — especially as several sisters start expressing feelings for Arata that go beyond sibling affection. Arata, who values their connection and wants to preserve the family dynamic, must navigate this complicated new reality while protecting the unity of the Shiunji household. The series blends humor, awkward romance, and heartfelt moments, exploring themes of identity, love, and what truly defines a family. Want help turning this into a character breakdown or adapting the dynamic into a community roleplay concept for Respawn Otaku? I’ve got ideas ready to go. There is a Season 2 in the works I will update when it releases

  16. Anime has a unique way of telling stories that hit deep -- not just with flashy battles or tear-jerking romances, but with characters who face real-world challenges, including disabilities. From physical impairments to neurodivergence, anime often portrays these experiences with nuance, symbolism, and emotional weight. Take Shouko Nishimiya from A Silent Voice. Her deafness isn’t just a plot point — it’s the lens through which we explore bullying, guilt, and redemption. Or Nunnally Lamperouge from Code Geass, whose blindness and paralysis are woven into her strength and moral compass. Even March Comes in Like a Lion subtly explores depression and social anxiety through Rei’s internal battles. These portrayals aren’t always perfect, but they do something powerful: they humanize. They invite viewers to empathize, to reflect, and to see beyond the surface. In a world where disability is often misunderstood or invisible, anime can be a bridge — not just for representation, but for connection. So yes, anime can absolutely be a good way for people to understand others. It’s not a substitute for lived experience or real-world advocacy, but it’s a start. And sometimes, a story is what opens the door to compassion. If you are looking for more anime that hit like A Silent Voice, Might I make a few suggestions! Your Lie in April Music, grief, and young love collide in a story about healing through connection. is a poignant coming-of-age anime that follows Kousei Arima, a piano prodigy who loses his ability to hear music after the death of his abusive mother. His world turns monochrome—until he meets Kaori Miyazono, a free-spirited violinist whose passion and spontaneity reignite his love for music. As they grow closer, Kaori’s own hidden struggles unfold, leading to a story of healing, heartbreak, and the transformative power of art. I Want to Eat Your Pancreas: A quiet boy bonds with a terminally ill girl — bittersweet, beautiful, unforgettable. This anime is a deeply emotional coming-of-age anime about an introverted high school boy who discovers that his lively classmate, Sakura Yamauchi, is secretly living with a terminal pancreatic illness. Drawn together by this secret, the two form an unlikely bond that transforms both of their lives. Through shared moments, bucket-list adventures, and quiet reflections, the story explores mortality, connection, and the beauty of living fully — even when time is short. Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day: Childhood trauma and unresolved grief reunite a group of friends — bring tissues. This anime is a heartfelt drama about a group of childhood friends who drift apart after the tragic death of one of their own, Meiko "Menma" Honma. Years later, her ghost appears to Jinta, the former leader of the group, asking him to fulfill a forgotten wish so she can move on. As Jinta reconnects with his estranged friends to help Menma, they’re all forced to confront their grief, guilt, and unresolved emotions from the past. A Sign of Affection: A romantic slice-of-life where the heroine is deaf — gentle, sweet, and inclusive. is a tender romance anime that follows Yuki Itose, a deaf university student whose world begins to shift when she meets Itsuomi, a multilingual traveler with a carefree spirit. As their relationship blossoms, the story explores communication beyond words — through sign language, gestures, and emotional connection. With gentle pacing and heartfelt moments, it beautifully portrays love, identity, and the challenges of navigating a silent world.
