In this world, ayakashi and humans coexist, with the ayakashi occasionally choosing human women as their “brides,” granting them prosperity and unconditional love in return. Yuzu, constantly compared to her sister, who is married to a demon fox, is mistreated by her family. One day, when Yuzu feels at her lowest, a man—the most beautiful she has ever seen—appears before her on a bridge and calls her his wife. “Just be quiet and let me hold you,” he says, as the most powerful and “cold-hearted” ayakashi opens his heart to Yuzu.
