This year, Destiny 2 released what arguably was the best expansion ever for the game and the franchise as a whole in the form of The Final Shape, reaching an all-time high on multiple fronts - including community morale and player numbers. However, multiple controversies tied to either Bungie as a company or the game itself started to make it hard for Destiny 2 releases to shine. Episode 1's reception was lukewarm, but the bigger issues came with Revenant. Between the lack of crafting and Destiny 2's Tonic controversy, multiple unresolved bugs affecting the game started to take a toll, especially considering the Dawning event's state and yet another community-wide debate.
